How to use the Watermark PDF
- Choose a PDF or try the example.
- Enter the watermark text and choose the direction, colour and opacity.
- Select Add watermark and download the PDF.
Supported files and limits
- The text is sized to fit each page and centred on it, including landscape and rotated pages.
- Text stays selectable and the pages are not re-rendered, so quality and file size stay the same.
- Western European letters, digits and punctuation are supported.
- Up to 2,000 pages and 100 MB. Password-protected PDFs are not supported.
Common questions
Can a watermark be removed?
Someone with PDF editing software can remove a text watermark. It shows the status of a document and discourages copying, but it is not a security measure on its own.
Will the watermark cover my text?
It is placed on top of the page. With an opacity of 20 to 30% the text underneath stays easy to read.
Can I watermark only some pages?
Yes. Enter the pages, for example 1-3 or 2, 5.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The watermark is added in your browser and the file is never sent to our server or anyone else.
